Frequently Asked Questions

What is your horse background?
I grew up riding horses from a very young age out in Calgary, Alberta, spending most of my early years at Teesdale Stables under the instruction of Christine Waldroff. I rode/leased a variety of horses before buying my first young horse. From that point on I was hooked! I bought my most recent youngster, Riggs, from Timeless Sport Horses in Texas in 2019. Currently, I train with Sara Compton out of EPIC Stables in Calgary, but I live in Mississauga. This year, I'll show competitively on my young horse at Spruce Meadows, RMSJ, and down in California (Del Mar) on the Seaside Equestrian Tour.
What exactly do you do?
I have a full time job as a University Professor in Toronto, so that is what I do most of the time, but I love horses and I love teaching, so in my spare time I coach English riding lessons for beginners and intermediate students and ride people's horses when they are away/sick/injured/busy. My skills in teaching translate well to my equestrian coaching.
Where will you travel to?
I live in Mississauga, so generally anything that is within 60 kilometers of there is fair game. That normally includes Oakville, Burlington, Guelph, Campbellville, and the GTA.
When are you available?
This really depends what you need. With a full time university job, I am normally free evenings and weekends, with more flexibility in the summer months.
Do you have your own facility?
No. I will come to you.
Are you insured?
Yes. Like all EC licensed coaches, I hold my own insurance. I am also First Aid/CPR trained.
